Victim identified in north Charlotte homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is conducting a homicide investigation Sunday morning.

According to police, officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call around 6:40 a.m. in the 9200 block of Trinity Road.

Upon arrival, officers found 29-year-old Larry Watson Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead.

Watson’s death marks Charlotte’s 71st homicide of 2017.
